AI Browsers Are Here — And They're Smarter Than You Think
Published about 1 month ago • 6 min read
Hi Reader,
This week’s AI news drops are powerful, but what really stood out to me were the two new AI browsers changing how we get things done online. I shared demos of both — ChatGPT Atlas and Perplexity’s Comet — and each brings a totally different kind of productivity boost. Whether it’s Atlas auditing your LinkedIn or Comet filling out forms while you sit back, we’re clearly moving beyond “search” into full-on assistant mode.
OpenAI just introduced ChatGPT Atlas — a new AI-powered browser designed for deep research. You can browse the web, summarize pages, and save insights all in one workspace without switching tabs. It merges live internet access, research tools, and memory features into a single experience, positioning ChatGPT to compete directly with Google Search.
Gemini models can now tap into live Google Maps data, allowing you to ask real-time questions like “What’s traffic like on my route?” or “Find a quiet coffee shop nearby.” It can check traffic conditions, business hours, and local events — making Gemini smarter for travel planning and local recommendations.
ChatGPT now automatically manages your saved memories, so you’ll never hit “memory full” errors again. You can search, sort, and reprioritize memories directly in your settings. It’s a seamless update that keeps your ChatGPT workspace more organized and efficient.
NotebookLM just added a new capability powered by Nano-Banana — when it turns your documents into narrated videos, you can now choose from six visual styles like sketchnote, chalkboard, and cinematic. I recorded a demo here.
Anthropic and Microsoft 365 are teaming up through a new Claude Connector that embeds Claude directly into Word, Excel, and Outlook. You’ll be able to summarize emails, analyze data, and draft content right where you already work — no switching between tools required.
HeyGen just released a huge update across its mobile app and AI Studio. The new Mobile App 2.0 lets you create full videos on the go using a built-in Video Agent — just type an idea, and it builds the video for you. You can now turn photos into talking videos, UGC ads, or translated clips in seconds. Inside AI Studio, you can generate B-roll with Veo 3.1 or Sora 2 and create cinematic multi-speaker avatar videos using your own voice and style. The update also adds NanoBanana for precise avatar customization and a Photo Avatar Unlimited feature that brings full-body movement to your still photos.
↩️ Don’t miss out: Did you miss our last newsletter? We featured Google’s latest video model, Veo 3.1 — now live inside Flow, Google’s AI-powered video editor. Flow lets creators generate, edit, and refine short videos using simple text or voice prompts. With Veo 3.1, you get smoother motion, higher-quality visuals, and more natural-language editing all in one workspace.Check it here!
My Latest Video Demos and Discoveries
ChatGPT Atlas: OpenAI’s New Browser Is Here
I tested ChatGPT’s new Atlas browser — it’s wild. You can open your social media accounts right inside the browser, switch on Agent Mode, and it literally audits your LinkedIn or Instagram for you, even suggesting posts or commenting. I also ran side-by-side tests showing Atlas working in real time. ➡️ Here’s the video I did about it.
Meet Comet: The AI Browser That Works for You
The Comet browser from Perplexity is quietly one of the most impressive AI tools right now. In one video, I showed how Comet automatically follows AI-focused Instagram accounts for you — completely hands-free. In another, I walked through how it can fill out complex online forms (and even pick dates!) without you typing a thing. ➡️ Watch the Instagram demo here. ➡️ And here’s the video showing how it fills out forms.
I ran a head-to-head comparison between ChatGPT’s Atlas and Perplexity’s Comet. Both can handle real tasks — like labeling columns in spreadsheets and creating dropdowns — without you typing a thing. The future of browsing isn’t passive anymore; it’s interactive. ➡️ Click here to watch the full demo.
Make ChatGPT Smarter — The Right Way
Forget telling ChatGPT, “You are an expert copywriter.” There’s a better prompt strategy. In this quick tip, I showed how to use deep research commands and ChatGPT Projects to make your assistant actually smarter — not just obedient. ➡️ Here’s the video.
NotebookLM Just Got a Big Update
NotebookLM now lets you customize explainer videos in multiple languages and choose between long or short formats. You can even fine-tune the style and focus of your video summaries. This update makes it a serious storytelling tool. ➡️ Click here to see the update in action.
