Gemini 3 = Google’s Best AI Yet

Hi Reader,

If your Gmail inbox is running you instead of the other way around, you’re going to love this: Google just rolled out a new automation feature called Workspace Flows and it’s built right into Gmail. You can use it to automatically sort emails, respond to inquiries, and even trigger external actions using Gemini. I put together a quick video to show you exactly how to get started here.

And in classic timing… just one day after I released a brand new NotebookLM training, Google dropped a powerful Deep Research mode. This upgrade lets you ask complex questions and get detailed, cited answers pulled from all your uploaded sources so you can add them to your notebook. Aaaand…they added infographics and slide decks!

Also in this week’s rollout: Gemini 3 is officially here, ChatGPT group chats are now live globally, and Google Vids just unlocked free access to their best AI tools.

Big News of the Week

ChatGPT Launches Global Group Chats

ChatGPT is now rolling out group chats worldwide, giving you an easy way to collaborate with up to 20 people inside one shared conversation. You can brainstorm together, share files, and keep everything organized without switching between apps.

Each person keeps their own private settings and memory, and starting a group chat is simple — just tap the people icon and add participants or share an invite link. Everyone will be prompted to create a short profile with their name, username, and photo.

If you add someone new to an existing chat, ChatGPT creates a fresh conversation so the original one stays untouched. And during group discussions, ChatGPT knows when to jump in and when to stay quiet. You can tag @ChatGPT to get a response, and it can react to messages with emojis and even reference profile photos.

Google Officially Launches Gemini 3

Gemini 3 is here with major upgrades in reasoning, performance, multimodal understanding, long-form content, research, and code. Google says it’s more reliable, more transparent, and rolling out soon across Search, Android, Workspace, and developer tools. I haven’t used it a ton yet, but what I’ve seen so far is impressive.

Google Releases Nano Banana Pro Image Model

Google introduced Nano Banana Pro, a lightweight image model designed for devices with limited resources. It creates more detailed, faster visuals without heavy computing power — meaning high-quality image generation is now much more accessible.

Google Vids Unlocks Free Gemini Features

If you use Google Vids, several Gemini-powered features that were previously paid — like script generation, scene suggestions, and smarter editing — are now free. Google wants to make AI video creation more accessible for everyone. I’m going to be hosting a free Google Vids training so keep your eyes out for more info about that.

Google AI Mode Adds Travel Planning + Canvas Workspace

AI Mode now helps you organize travel plans by pulling your flights, hotels, and activities into one clear view. You can also use a new Canvas workspace to brainstorm or outline ideas visually — making Gemini feel more like a real planning assistant.

Google Photos’ “Help Me Edit” Comes to iOS

iPhone users are finally getting Google’s “Help Me Edit” AI feature powered by Nano-Banana. You can edit photos with natural language — brighten images, remove backgrounds, or change styles — and Photos will also suggest edits automatically based on what it detects.

NotebookLM Adds Gemini-Powered Deep Research

A new Deep Research mode helps you understand complex topics faster. Upload sources, ask open-ended questions, and Gemini will pull from all your uploaded materials to create detailed, cited responses. Huge upgrade for anyone working on reports or strategy.

NotebookLM Expands Supported Source Types

NotebookLM now accepts almost everything: PDFs, Docs, Slides, Word files, Sheets, Excel, CSVs, website URLs, YouTube links, audio files, images, and more. It can analyze all your materials together, helping you get deeper insights across mixed sources — perfect for research and complex projects. It’s such an incredible tool.

And even more from NotebookLM…they’ve added infographics and slide decks to the output options!

↩️ Don’t miss out: Did you miss our last newsletter? We featured OpenAI’s new GPT-5.1 update, which introduces built-in personality presets like professional, creative, casual, and teaching mode. It also delivers major upgrades in reasoning and memory, making conversations feel smoother and more consistent across chats. Check it here!

Mind-Blowing Things You Can Do With NotebookLM

If you missed the live session, you can now watch our NotebookLM training. I covered a million use cases (practically!) and also shared what’s new in this astonishingly good platform!

Watch the replay here and you can download the NotebookLM Guide here too.

Hi Reader, I’ve been testing the new ChatGPT 5.1 update this week and it’s genuinely impressive. The new personality presets (like teaching, professional, and casual) make switching tones effortless, and the memory and reasoning upgrades are a noticeable improvement. Conversations feel smoother and more intuitive across the board. That wasn’t the only big drop. Google launched PDF Podcasts in Drive, Gemini now supports hands-free shopping with agentic checkout, and Comet from Perplexity...

Hi Reader, This week’s AI updates are all about making your tools feel more like teammates. ChatGPT’s Agent Mode now lets it take real action on your behalf: researching, booking, comparing, and shopping all within the Atlas browser. It’s a big step toward real, hands-free task automation. (But use with caution, as there are privacy issues!) Over at Google, Maps just got a major upgrade with Gemini integration, meaning you can now ask for alternate routes, nearby coffee shops, or parking with...

Hi Reader, Happy Halloween! 🎃 This week’s updates really hit a sweet spot between creativity and productivity, and I’ve been testing a lot of them behind the scenes. Claude memory is now available to everyone, Canva just launched their new “Creative Operating System,” and OpenAI quietly added company-level knowledge to ChatGPT, which is a big deal for teams managing internal data. Let me just throw in a little let's do a happy dance emoji for that one. 💃 But what really caught my attention is...
